BOWLS USA SOUTHWEST DIVISION WINTER LEAGUE

Regular Season

The 2024 - 2025 Southwest Division Winter League regular season began on Saturday, Dec 7th, 2024. Match weeks are as follows: Dec 7, Dec 14, Dec 15, Dec 21, Dec 28, Jan 4, Jan 11, Jan 18, Jan 25 (overflow). One standard Winter League morning 15-end (5/5/5) Rinks Match and 2 afternoon Pairs Matches.

Before your matches:

Phone and or text your opponent's captain or alternate before the match and verify that a) You indeed have a match with said opponent and b) The correct team is driving to the appropriate lawn bowling club.
Teams: a) Assure team members are organized and know where to go. b) Assure team members have scorecards printed out on card stock. c) Traveling teams bring your own lunch!
If you happen to be playing at Santa Anita LBC, LA County requires you to sign a Liability Waiver to bowl on their greens. Each competitor please download one, print it out, sign it, bring it with you to Santa Anita, and give it to someone who looks important.

After your matches, all captains (both winning and losing):

summarize the total score in your text or Email.
send the text or email to Randy Hatfield and the opposing team captain for agreement (you can get their contact info here). For any other issues, please contact the administrator.

Playoffs

The 2024 - 2025 Southwest Division Winter League Playoffs will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2024 starting at 9:00am at Long Beach Lawn Bowling Club. 4 teams from both the Gold and Silver Leagues advance to a 4-team playoff. Winners and runner's up in each league receive trophies to take home. Morning and afternoon (Costco wraps, sandwiches, and potato chips) hospitality provided.

Playoff Format
2 standard Winter League 15-end (5/5/5) Pairs Matches. Winner advances (or wins). A rinks one-end bowl off to break ties (flip to determine mat). A neutral rink will be selected with NO TRIAL BOWLS.
